FIL Investment Services (UK) Ltd (‘we’, ‘our’, ‘Fidelity’) acts as a data controller for the collection and processing of personal information relating to shareholders (‘you’, ‘your’) in our investment trusts (‘Fidelity Investment Trusts’).
This statement explains what personal information is collected about you, what this is used for, and your privacy rights.
Your personal information is collected:
(a) To identify who you are, under our legitimate interest;
When you invest in a Fidelity Investment Trust though a third-party investment platform, we are entitled under Section 793 of the Companies Act 2006 to confirm the identities of shareholders in our investment trusts in order to make contact with them.
On behalf of Fidelity, Richard Davies Investor Relations (‘RD:IR’, part of the Equiniti Group) has made contact with third-party investment platforms to identify shareholders in the Fidelity Investment Trusts and obtain their personal information. This includes:
- Your name.
- Postal address.
- Shares held.
- Account number.
- Account type.

(b) With your consent;
When we obtain your personal information above, we will invite you to sign-up to email communications from Fidelity about the Fidelity Investment Trusts. You may also sign-up to receive these by email via our website. If you choose to opt-in to receive these, your name and email address will be processed by RD:IR for the purposes of sending these emails.
You have the right to ask us not to process your personal information for marketing purposes. You can unsubscribe from our emails

Please note:
- Requests to unsubscribe via post may take longer than using the unsubscribe link in the footer of our emails; and
- if you also receive emails from Fidelity Personal Investing, this is separate to Fidelity Investment Trusts. To unsubscribe from Fidelity Personal Investing please use the separate unsubscribe link at the foot of its emails or visit fidelity.co.uk/preference-centre.
If you opt-in to receive emails about the Fidelity Investment Trusts, RD:IR will retain your personal information:
- Until you opt out of receiving these; and
- for a period of time needed to meet their own legal and regulatory obligations.

You can access the personal information held about you, and exercise your right to have a copy of this provided to you, or someone else on your behalf.
