The Company has announced Final Results for the year ended 31 December 2020.
Highlights:
The Board of Fidelity European Trust PLC recommends a final dividend of 3.90 pence per share which together with the interim dividend payment of 2.60 pence per share (totalling 6.50 pence) represents a modest increase over the dividend paid in the prior year
- The net asset value of the Company increased by +9.7% for the year ended 31 December 2020, outperforming the Benchmark Index, the FTSE World Europe (ex UK), which returned +8.6%.
- The discount narrowed markedly during the year from 6.2% to 3.6% over the period, as result of the share price total return of +13.1%.
- The Board has agreed a revised fee with effect from 1 April 2021. The current tiered rate of 0.75 per cent on net assets in excess of £400 million will reduce to 0.65 per cent, thus achieving useful savings on overall percent-age costs for shareholders.
- With effect from 1 September 2020, the Board agreed with Fidelity to appoint Marcel Stotzel as a Co-Portfolio Manager alongside Sam Morse, the Company’s Portfolio Manager.
